City Council

In 2009, the City Council met 54 times (not including committee meetings, conferences and other events) to help ensure a successful, progressive, and inviting community. Together, the community built a park, repaired a dam, prayed for rain and for troops, veterans, and our-adopt-a-unit soldiers, erected two water towers, accepted a non-matching grant of $750k for sidewalks to schools, renamed streets, talked about egrets and feral cats and dogs and chickens, and then tackled annexation. It was an incredible year.

Council meetings are held on the second Thursday and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall chambers. Special council meetings may be called at any time and agendas are posted 72 hours in advance.

Always on the grow and always improving,
Taylor completed or started five projects totaling more than $100M in 2010.

These improvements include a new sports complex, a new high school, overhaul of our main gateway (Second Street - US 79B), a higher education center, and an ERCOT expansion.

The City Council regularly hears and reports to the public the status of ongoing capital improvement projects. Click here to see two years of reports.

State Government

For the past two years, Texas has recruited more companies than any other state in the country. We're proud to be located in a pro-business state. Visit the Office of the Governor's Economic Development and Tourism website for additional information.
